Let's Get NAKED!

LOOK WHAT I GOT IN THE MAIL TODAY...

BACK STORY:

Urban Decay Cosmetics (Beauty With An Edge) was founded over 15 years ago and has  now become the largest independently owned color cosmetic company in the United States.

The original Naked eyeshadow palette, released in June 2010, was quickly sold out at local Sephora and Ulta stores. When the Naked 2 palette debuted in December 2011 the public's reaction was the same. Online sites are barely able to keep them in stock and Urban Decay is frantically trying to mass produce the palette to meet its growing demand.

Naked ($48)

What it is:
A universally flattering palette that features 12 eyeshadows with a distinctly Urban look.

What it does:
This long, lean, and seductive case comes packed with 12 gorgeous neutrals that work for absolutely everyone. Shades range from delicate champagne to gritty gunmetal, and feature five stunning new shades. A variety of textures, including glitter, shimmer, and matte, ensure that you'll never get bored. This versatile palette can go from office appropriate to a night on the town. The mirrored case also features a new professional-quality, cruelty-free Good Karma Eyeshadow Brush, plus a travel-size Eyeshadow Primer Potion in original formula.

What else you need to know:
The rich chocolate velvet and gold foil-covered case conjures up images of pure decadence.

Naked 2 ($50)

What it is:
The most anticipated sequel of the decade, Naked2 features a dozen pigment-rich taupe and gray-beige neutrals, plus five exclusive, new shades.

What it does:
The follow up to the original bestselling Naked palette, this stunning second edition proves that neutral is anything but boring. Showcasing a dozen completely different shades than the first bronze-based collection, it includes a stunning range from pale and deep, to matte and sparkly. You'll achieve a host of new neutral looks, smoky dramatic eyes, and everything in between. The palette also includes a travel-size Lip Junkie Lipgloss in Naked and a double-ended, cruelty-free Good Karma Shadow/Crease Brush (available only in this palette).

What else you need to know:
Urban Decay's packaging takes on a modern feel in Naked2. With an art-school-inspired tin case and a hinged lid, it's smooth and cool to the touch.
During the ENTIRE month of February I will ONLY be using these two palettes for my eyeshadows. At the beginning of March, I'll give a detailed review of both palettes. If you have any questions or comments about the palettes, that you want me to address in my review, feel free to leave a comment below.
