As we were leaving work last week, a co-worker was telling me about a recent dating nightmare experienced by one of her friends. The story was nothing short of what you would imagine Carrie and the girls from Sex & the City would talk about over Sunday brunch. The details were juicy and the ending was a real humdinger. We were both in stitches. Laughing at the crazy choices we as women make in our journey to find “Mr. Right”.
It wasn’t long before my laughter turned to somber reflection. What was so funny about a woman compromising herself? Absolutely nothing! Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not judging that woman. I’ll be the first to admit that love (lust) has made a fool out of me.
February is the month of LOVE. Let’s make an effort to love ourselves and make choices that leave us feeling valued and empowered.
